This is a preliminary scheme for a modern day rendition of the Filipino house "Kubo" that will be situated in Cainta, Rizal. The slope of the lot allowed us to re-create the "silong", which is the utlity space of the Kubo that is situated below an elevated first floor. This creates an opportunity for strategies in passive cooling not only through vent windows but also through the floors. We aim to put designs inpired by the local context to be able to create a truly Pinoy (Cainta Version) House :) Will post updates soon! I hope you like it!
