Halletts Point

Halletts Point is a new mixed-use development on the Astoria, Queens waterfront. The master plan comprises eight residential buildings, retail, a public waterfront esplanade, and a site for a K-8 school. The plan provides over 2,400 apartments, 20 percent of which will be affordable units. The first building, 10 Halletts Point, was designed by Dattner Architects and is scheduled to open in 2018.

Halletts Point 7 is located on 27th Avenue on the campus of the NYC Housing Authority’s Astoria Houses. The building acts as a gateway to the new development, while linking it to the Astoria Houses. The 14-story, 156,000 square foot building will provide 163 affordable apartments. A six-story base relates to the scale of the Astoria Houses buildings, while inset windows and façade recesses reinforce visual articulation. The project is participating in NYC’s Inclusionary Housing Program and the Enterprise Green Communities Initiative. The building’s design incorporates healthy materials to enhance resident well-being.
