A class that introduces the Passive House standard for building homes. The form strikes a balance between form and function. Ample daylighting inside the house is combined with orientation to provide the necessary amount of passive solar throughout the day.
The hypothetical clients that guided the design are newlyweds who plan to have kids. The husband is a musician who loves to garden, and the wife is a lawyer who loves to cook. Both parties requests a sunroom and a room for guests. Since the site is in a rural setting, the clients would like the house to be 2,300ft
