About

A little about myself, I was born in China and immigrated to the US when I was 11. I’ve always had a passion for art, craft and design and wanted to make a living from it and began my design journey in Art Center College of Design. I recently graduated from Art Center with a degree of Bachelor of Science, majoring in Environmental Design. What I learn in Art Center is very broad: lighting design, furniture design, interior design, exhibition design, architecture design, etc., basically everything that is around the environment that we can interact with. Please see attachment for portfolio of some of the projects I’ve done in Art Center. Throughout my learning experience in Art Center, I’ve gained the knowledge of many software skills and became proficient in: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, V-ray for Rhinoceros, Solidwork, Keynote, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, Microsoft powerpoint, Outlook. I am also familiar with Sketchup, Maya, Coreldraw, Aftereffects, and Dreamweaver.

A little about my work, my design is very personal, I like to create special moments for the user and look at how the user interacts with the object. My work is also very organic; I take inspirations from the natural side and create my own story.
Whether I’m designing furniture or architectural environments, my design approach begins with the back-story of a project and a sensitive understanding of the user.
I believe that good design is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also purposeful. I like to provide hidden experiences for the user; details that are hidden from plain sight - details that really make a space or product feel personal, like it was designed just for them. I aspire to always create something that is emotionally rich and grounded in meaning, while always pushing a passionate stance that have a positive effect on people’s lives.
