In its purest concept the Highcliff Residence consists of two flared bars connected and covered by a single sloping roof. Inspiration was drawn from the Japanese Shibori fan with the idea of creating shelter for the house and directing views with a single design move. Distinct spaces which vary from public (exposed and open) to private (secluded) were developed amongst the geometry of the house. The central courtyard encompasses the spirit and personality of the project and is the confluence of the man made structure, and nature.
