Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana and Forno Fabbri Italian market combine a fast-casual lunch and market full of imported Italian goods with a high-end pizzeria serving up authentic Italian Neapolitan pizza.   

It was very important that the space, while being distinctively Italian, also reflect its contextual environment of the desert. The centerpiece is a 7,500 lb. wood-fired pizza oven adorned with copper “penny” tile, a product that has been locally mined in the desert for centuries. The adjacent soffit is clad in the rich Iris “Frenchwood” plank ceramic tile and wraps around the prominent expo kitchen. The design challenge was to create a wood plank look while meeting local health codes.  The tiles were butt jointed and grout less to give it an authentic plank wood look. In contrast, bold, Italian wall covering by Dedar was chosen to accent the volume of the space.  In addition, slabs of Italian Marble are the backdrop for the massive oven.  Together, these genuine materials are timeless, rich, striking, and elegant.
