I am an intermediate architectural designer currently working at LS3P Associates in Wilmington, NC. My general professional goal is to work alongside others to create beautiful, meaningful, and healthy places for people - especially the less fortunate. My best role, and greatest passion as a designer, is to dream up fresh and innovative ideas that guide projects from beginning to end. I relish being directly involved in every phase of design to see these ideas through to the built work.
LS3P, Wilmington, NC, US, Architectural Designer
I've been involved in a little bit of everything, from conceptual design for a small open-air chapel for a hospice facility to construction administration for a 350,000-s.f. retirement facility. My most consistent role has been on the detail end of things, in particular developing wall sections and details for a wide variety of projects in DD and CD phases.

The degree is called Master of Environmental Design, a mostly independent research track (no design studios) that culminates in a written thesis. My research centered around contemporary church design, in particular the question of whether architecture for worship can or should communicate and evoke spiritual faith. The title of my thesis was, "Towards a New Christian Architecture." Primary advisors were Karsten Harries and Nicholas Wolterstorff.
