Park Manors Renovations

Built in 1925, the Park Manors quadrangle comprises Babson College’s original buildings. While their Neo-Georgian style helped establish the College’s architectural identity, their advanced age necessitated a complete renovation to bring the buildings up to the expectations of incoming freshmen with regards to student comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability.  At the same time, it was imperative to preserve the building’s historic character and mold the buildings’ spaces to fit the colleges current and projected housing needs.

Upgrades included the reprogramming of the housing model to be singles, doubles and triples, with common floor bathrooms, and new provisions for shared social and lounge spaces for student interaction. The building and surrounding revitalized terrace and quad are now fully accessible. The renovations included an entirely new and energy efficient HVAC system, as well as new life safety systems throughout. The building achieved its designed LEED Silver rating.
