In the center district of Algiers has a interesting urban fabric. Between its long history as
the French colonial city par excellence and it has stood for centuries, a slope of gleaming
white houses climbing in steps from the sea like a construction of sugar cubes, Casbah.
These two complete different urban forms, made this site has rich of retreat spaces and
access spaces. Through this workshop, we defined mordern city composed by two parts:
First, constitute the city's main impression: monuments, landmark buildings, as well as
important public space, such as square, street; Second, city background space, namely
residential.
