2014 AIA AAH Steris Student Design Charrette, Other

Student teams from four universities are selected each year to participate in the Student Design Charrette held in conjunction with the AIA/AAH Fall Conference. The Charrette planning committee creates a specific project program that will be introduced to participating teams upon arrival at the conference. The Charrette is scheduled to take place over approximately a 48-hour period preceding the conference.

Community First! Tiny House Competition, 2nd Place

Tiny houses challenge designers to design sustainably by prioritizing needs, identifying efficiencies, and reflecting on differences between needs and wants. Student teams will design a tiny house and produce the related design documents, estimate, and schedule.

Winning designs will serve as the starting point for the course ARCH/COSC 489 in the Spring 2015 semester, where interdisciplinary student teams will complete design and build the tiny houses.
