At Capital Architects the associates work together to manage work load within the office. Together with the principal, we collaborate on design, discuss strategies for procuring projects and brainstorm on a music theme for the day.

While I help out in all phases of any project that may need attention, I tend to take on the majority of the residential projects that come through the office. I do much of the plan layout and design work on residential and commercial projects, as well as manage the firms "brag book" and graphic design projects. This is, of course, in addition to copious amounts of CAD drafting.

• Manage 5-6 projects at a time in various stages
• 2d drafting and 3d modeling

• Research all pertinent zoning and building code information for each project
• Draft contracts
• Minor design work such as cabinet and tile layouts
• and finally and most importantly, be the most reliable go-to tech wiz in the entire three-person firm.

As a Construction Administration Assistant / Junior Designer my main responsibilities were to
• Track and respond to RFI’s & Submittals
• Review and respond to shop drawings
• 2d drafting and 3d modeling
• Issue clarifications and coordinate with contractors on site
• Minor design work on residential remodels and light commercial renovations
• Design of various components for a private club such as awnings, guardrails and tile mosaics.
• Specification of products, materials, finishes and fixtures.
• and finally and most importantly, going extraordinary to lengths to fit in as an architect in a buzzing interior design office.

Produced construction documents from sketches for numerous jobs, including renovations, fire rehabilitation projects, tenant improvements etc., reviewed and corrected red-lined drawings. Most importantly and impressively accomplishing all of this over the phone.
