My name is Chris Gluvna and I am a Designer at CR Architecture + Design in Cincinnati, Oh.
I have taken a variety of studio courses beyond the standard semester courses including the Fallingwater Studio with visiting critic Peter Bohlin, the Sustainability in Malta Studio, and as a teaching assistant for Global Design. These studios and courses have given me a greater perspective of the range of national and international design challenges and considerations. After a interning at CBLH Design, I have learned a great deal about the profession and have a better understanding of practical applications of architecture in the real world.
The past six years at Miami University and UWM and interning at CBLH Design, I have learned:
How architects merge modern architectural ideologies with local and global contexts
The urban and suburban constructs and how architecture influences the social, economic, and political climates
Construction practices that are utilized in the field today
Sustainable construction and design tactics to reduce a buildings impact on the site.
Free-hand drawings and sketches to express my design concepts and ideas
Competency in several computer programs such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit, Bonzai 3D, Rhino 3D, and Adobe Creative Suit
