Originally constructed in 1937, the original building was not designed for accessibility. This renovation focused on critical components for full function accessibility including: access from street level, access to all floors of the building, access to areas of special programming (gymnasium, cafeteria, and auditorium stage), as well as accessible toilet facilities.
The final design consisted of a four-story addition with an elevator, ground floor entry lobby, additional office/storage space, complete renovation of main building facilities, and additional accessible toilet facilities. Accessible circulation was provided to all program spaces of the building.
