Inspired by the series of oceanfront ponds – one of which the project is sited – this project incorporates a strategy of experiential layering of solids, voids and water elements to organize the interior and exterior spaces of the house. The first steps into the courtyard occur over a low pool of water – a culmination of the overflow from a raised, reflecting/sculpture pool. Uninterrupted expanses of floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass allow for site lines through the living and dining room while passing through the entry courtyard across Jule Pond to the Atlantic Ocean. Multiple outdoor spaces for lounging, dining, sun and shade are terraced around a 65’ infinity edged pool and spa, reinforcing the idea of water/land/water.
