this week the excersice we defined to ourselves was to bring only one image to the studio session and explain our project with that. like that we were hoping to lose some of the less relevant data and focus on the important stuff.
dan found a 'project sheet' from an old Burda magazine from the 80's (horrible clothes) and used the overlaying of huge amounts of different datas as a point of departure to produce an image which deals with the envelope of all of the 'compounds' in his urban piece according to their time of completion.
the result is maybe something to work with in terms of understanding how this compounding structures develop and change during the years and how is Tel-Aviv reacting to that.

I like the Burda work plan, makes me feel at home. Still as much as the image is strong I don’t get your analogy with historical urban growth. Seems to me work sheets are non-temporal; they do not describe development but rather instructions for reproducing or assembling traces of a product while being economical both with the magazines paper and the Burda’s fans sawing material. Or maybe the crux of the Burda analogy to urbanism is that of process, of singled out patterns, tracing the blueprint. I still don’t have a clear picture of the productive aspect of the analogy, but it does seem to create an effect.
