    Are Architects in Demand?

The employment of architects is projected to grow 4 percent from 2016 to 2026, slower than the average for all occupations but this does not necessarily mean that the profession is not in demand.

As most of us know, Architects are expected to be needed to make plans and designs for the construction and renovation of offices, retail stores, homes, and other structures. Many school districts and universities are expected to continuously build new facilities or renovate existing ones to keep their campuses engaging and to stay up to date. In addition, demand is expected for more healthcare facilities as the baby-boomer population ages and increases, and as more people use healthcare services. There will be a greater need for more healthcare facilities.

The demand for architects who understand “green architecture,” also known as sustainable design, is expected to remain high since this is a problem we face every day. Architects should be required to design buildings and systems that save capital, such as energy and water, minimize waste and emissions, and use environmentally conscious design, standards, and materials (to be more sustainable).

With a large number of architecture students graduating, intense competition for internships and employment is planned. Architects' employment is inextricably linked to the building industry's operation. As a result, these jobs may face periods of unemployment if there is a downturn in new project demands or if the overall pace of construction declines.

I believe that architects are still in demand and always will be because people need housing in order to live, work, play, read, buy, and eat. These structures are designed by architects. They plan both indoor and outdoor areas for public and private projects. Architects will be hired to plan anything from a single space to a whole construction complex. Architects meet with stakeholders to negotiate the project's goals, requirements, and budget. Architects can include predesigning services such as feasibility and environmental impact assessments, site selection, cost estimates, and design criteria in some situations.
