    Design for Thought

Dining out is an old time social tradition that has yet to lose its charm. The notion of having someone cook and serve you food will never die.  That, while enjoying a meal among your friends and family in a space purely designed for your comfort and enjoyment is hard to duplicate. The entrees and drinks may be what bring new customers to the restaurant, but the design is what brings patrons back.

Developing a restaurant for the public strictly just to eat doesn't exist anymore. When we go out to eat, we want to have the best dining experience possible. That includes everything from the angle of a ceiling fan to the color of the tile floor. We all want to eat enticing meals at a restaurant that looks exotic or abstract so that we can tell all our friends to go to that same spot. It's a social thing. Look around when eating next time and you'll notice everyone taking pictures of their food and the environment that surrounds them. Social media has allowed diners to share their experience with the world. This in return has called for restaurateurs to pay more attention detail to the architects.

A great deal of planning and focus go into designing a one of a kind restaurant. Is there enough TV's to make the crowd happy for the big game? Or is there too many that will lose the restaurants appeal? Is the lighting just enough to make the place look picturesque? Are the tables too wide? Does this color go well with that color? Every inch of detail can make the biggest difference. With competition being tough in the food industry, architects have to be creative and give the client a design that stands out. As much detail goes into a chef planning his famous dish, the same can be said for architects designing a restaurant.

Diners just don't want to be fed, they want to be entertained. The décor of a space should entertain the patrons and provide a memorable experience for them to come back. All the restaurant projects that we were a part of in the past has shown great success. Along with their great tasting food, the added attractive atmosphere that was designed gave the restaurants the perfect combination for the regulars to keep coming back for more.

About this Blog

This blog would pertain to more of what architecture and design is and how it's slowly changing. There are also professional ways on what design is, and how to achieve and accomplish these things such as how one can make their building more attractive. I'll share my content about how architecture has taken a step into the abstract, as more architects try to steer away from the normal to step outside the box.
