For this project my partner and I were assigned to develop a concept, design, and construction documents for a proposed graduate apartment building to be built near Pratt Institute's Brooklyn Campus. We were instructed to provide enough space for 150 beds, with appropriate amenities. In the end we developed a plan which incorporated different types of living spaces: traditional dormitory style spaces facing the rear of the building, and duplex apartment style spaces facing the front. Due to the fact that we varied our living spaces, we were able to add 4 extra beds to the overall program, while not losing any of the functionality of the building.
