I try to focus my design and interests in architecture on being inclusive. I observe, challenge, and design (at least try) ways where architecture is creating an inclusive environment. Not just for people but for nature and animals as well. I see sustainability in architecture as a starting point to really engage the environment with people, but there is still a lot more work. I have an interest in understanding how other societies are embedded in the animal life cycle rather than pushing them away when buildings are constructed on a site. I am also interested in how to design for communities that can enhance the culture, history, and people of the region. I have a strong interest in how architecture can bring different elements together to interact with one another and establish a symbiotic ecosystem of multiple backgrounds and scale.

Responsible for programming files and running the CNC Routers and Water-jet for student and faculty jobs. Experience with Rhino and MasterCAM software. Operated with supplies of MDF, LDF, Baltic Birch Plywood, Polystyrene Foam, and Steel.

Worked closely with lead architects and principals on material strategies and furniture layout. Contacted New York distributors for interior building samples to discuss material pairings. Visited construction site to address RFI’s and learn about high-rise techniques.

Assisted multiple architects on various phases of projects throughout the firm. Tasked with creating schematic design options for mixed-use, amenity space, or dealership projects. Exposed to working on projects around the country.
SHREMSHOCK ARCHITECTS INC., Ann Arbor, Architectural Designer
Collaborated and designed projects with the Multi-Family/Mixed-used studio of the firm. Worked primarily in Revit to create renderings and design models of dwelling units, courtyard, buildings, etc. Responsible for producing drawings to be submitted to the client and the city of Columbus for approval. Traveled to preliminary project sites to conduct surveys of the existing structure.

Converted all remaining 30,000,000 SF of 2-D AutoCAD based floor plans to 3-D Revit based building models for the university. BIM Assistants are tasked with redrawing floor plans into Revit. Surveying current conditions to ensure data in Revit is accurate. Adding new data to the Revit drawing from various architectural drawings, pictures, 2-D and 3-D laser scans.

Worked closely with in-house architect of Detroit Medical Center on current / real projects. Responsible for using AutoCAD to draw new project designs during the summer. Conducted multiple program document sheets and operational narratives. Collaborated with project managers and executive associates on design changes.
