Artefact, Inc. is a woman-owned architectural and planning practice located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The principal, Christine Ussler, founded the firm in 1986 and has since established a reputation for excellent design, sustainable solutions, and extensive knowledge of historic architecture.

Italian - Swiss architect and partner, Lucienne Di Biase Dooley joined the firm in 2008 and brings to the firm a European perspective, planning expertise, and unusual creative energy.

The firm's portfolio of work includes new buildings, adaptive reuse of existing buildings, restorations, renovation, interior design, and product design.  The type of buildings include courthouses, theaters, private schools, museums, restaurants, bed and breakfast, educational facilities, residential (single and multifamily), and  cultural and recreational facilities. The firm also does extensive historic preservation consulting to municipalities, and private developers, and owners.Typical clients are municipalities, universities, developers, private owners,and non-profit organizations.
