Ariel Millan is based in New York City and was raised between South West Colombia and the American Midwest. As a mechanism to understand the contrasts, overlaps and contradictions found in his upbringing and identity, Ariel approaches the environment through a lens of empathy and curiosity allowing this to influence his work .
A Parsons School of Design Graduate, Ariel’s work is centered on developing a compelling narrative across multiple scales and disciplines of design.
Upon graduation from Parsons, Ariel began working as an Architectural Designer at WXY. During his time at WXY, Ariel's involvement was key in the re-design of five train stations as part of Long Island Railroad’s 3rd Track Project. Migrating to other building typologies, Ariel held the role of Project Designer within the Aviation sector at Corgan Associates Architects, where he focused on the design and construction administration for Delta Airline’s Terminal C at La Guardia Airport.
Ariel currently works as a Senior Architectural Designer at Architecture In Formation where his works focuses on single-family and multi-family residential projects in New York City as well as New York State.
Independent of his professional work and in agreement with his interest in multidisciplinary design, Ariel founded AM WRKS as a think tank for
exploring design narratives across multiple scales and disciplines with the goal
of recalling personal and collective conversations be they sober or playful. His work has been nominated and featured on the 2023 edition of NYC X Design.
