Slope House

This house for a multi-generational family uses a grid of modules to layer space from outside inward and from shared to private. The client was seeking a more inward house focused on family, with unique and special connections with nature and the outside. My goal was to create a house that connects with nature but in a controlled and deliberate way. With screens that mediate view and light on one hand, and an open courtyard inviting the elements into the house on the other, this project engages in a dialogue with nature that impacts the social organization of the interior.
