Gloucester House

Situated at the end of a peninsula overlooking the Ware River, the Gloucester House is designed as both a residence and a gallery for an extensive contemporary art collection. The house is part of a complex of buildings on the site including an art barn and guest residences surrounding a formal lawn which orients the visitor to the buildings and the water. The double-height entry gallery provides an unobstructed view through the residence to the river and houses many of the large-scale paintings and furniture pieces from the collection. Each of the interior spaces is designed around the display of specific sculptures or paintings, with constant connection to the views and landscape beyond.
