ROVR Development Taps Max Strang and Rafael De Cárdenas for The Fairchild Coconut Grove Luxury Condominium

Developed by Miami real estate veterans, Ricardo Vadia and Oscar Rodriguez of ROVR Development, The Fairchild Coconut Grove offers a private enclave in the heart of one of Miami’s most coveted neighborhoods. The project is a complex of 26 waterfront residences which includes indoor and outdoor amenities, conceptualized by a stellar design team composed of Rafael de Cárdenas and Max Strang.

Strang sought out to create a timeless and modern design, different from the standard shape and color of its neighboring properties. The inspiration for The Fairchild’s unique design, he said, came from Alfred Browning Parker’s home in Coconut Grove and nearby botanical garden The Kampong, both of which incorporate local limestone.

Strang and de Cárdenas mixed strong, clean lines in distinct geometries to carve spaces that feel confident and modern. The designs combine local Florida stones, keystone and oolitic limestone, with warm wood, exposed concrete and glass to create a scheme that feels tactile and sophisticated.

The boutique luxury waterfront condominium showcases the beauty and calmness of the historic neighborhood. In the rooftop amenities, de Cárdenas designed the space to be as spacious and eye-catching as it is private, seeking to curate an open, yet exclusive, poolside oasis amidst the surrounding natural elements. Giving way to unparalleled outdoor experiences, he arranged serenity gardens, a bay walk and a jungle rainforest path.

Highlighting the expansive nature of the exclusive two- to four-bedroom residences, the designs thoughtfully create open and airy floor plans, complete with 11-foot ceilings. De Cárdenas continued to bring the outdoors in by integrating stone floors and solid wood doors into the modern bathroom vanities, walk-in closets and chef-inspired kitchens.

Oscar Rodriguez and Ricardo Vadia of ROVR Development chose the two prolific designers for their individual expertise in high design developments. Rodriguez and Vadia bring more than 35 years’ combined experience in the acquisition, planning, development and management of multifamily residential communities.  Since its launch in 2015, ROVR Development has cultivated a diverse portfolio of high design projects in key neighborhoods throughout South Florida. Currently, their expanding portfolio includes a mix of condominiums, multi-family rentals and mixed-use developments.
