The site is the amalgamation of municipal corporation areas and as well as private plots and is approximately 42 acres; it is a triangular portion, encompassed by The Khanapur Road, The Deshmukh Road and The Shukrawar Peth on its three sides. It is predominantly a residential area and is surrounded by commercial areas at the periphery. The zone is adorned by a religious precinct at its crown, the age old vegetable market and commercial complex at its two other ends. It also has the Rajput Bandhu school, the Lokmanya Granthalaya few of the oldest structures on the site, including The Kawle Math, Tallur Desai house and The Mahatma Phule Garden.
The beginning of the site witnesses a huge residential zone, with a number of religious places. The middle portion of the site has a dense residential core, surrounded by a commercial belt on the periphery. The heart of the site is filled with a dense residential core, with commercial on the periphery. The tapering end has organically spread industrial areas. The whole site is surrounded by major roads, the Khanapur Road, the congress road. It also consists of a railway line that passes through the exterior side of the site.
