Located in the USC campus, the existing parking structure contains only parking functions and a few offices on the ground floor. The vacancy of programs, compared to the surronnding areas, lead to the gap of dynamic. Therefore the main challenge of this project is to activate the facade while leaving the original structure untouched. In dealing with the pratical problems, the space left for the renewal is quite limited. Active spots are placed onto the additional portion, leaving the eaten up spaces as shuttles connecting the interior and the exterior of the building. Those shuttle spaces work like membrane to attract people by expose the events happening in the building.
