Campus Art Center

Exploring the history of art centers, traditional art centers are often self-sealed, with all activities performed only inside the building. Besides art works, the everyday life of its community is also another form of art that should have a chance to be concerned and embraced, which becomes the new role of art center, especially in a campus. Therefore in this project, the main concern is to break the isolation of this art center and its context while respecting the environment and protecting the campus culture. Elements such as continuous ramps, semi-outer open space, citizen’s stage, open theather are utilized in this project to create a public space shared by the students and the citizens, building the platform for art to be shared by the community.
