This project was completed for the IDEC 2012 competition. The challenge was to research areas of South Africa and see what area was in most need. This project was completed in a group of pairs and was to be completed in only two weeks. While researching, my partner and I decided that the percentages of rape were so high and there was no safe place for women or children to go. Themabekile is a home where children can go play, fellowship and get school work completed as well as counseling, if needed. It is also a place where moms can come and bring their kids to a safe environment and be supported by others who have been in similar situations.
