Santa Barbara, CA | Portland, OR
Perched above the ocean, this cliff-top, sea-view home was an exercise in sophisticated design and modern minimalism. Located in Santa Barbara's modest Mesa neighborhood, the home remodel project is currently under construction for a young, creative entrepreneur who took an active role in rebuilding the 1952 tract home.
Dan Weber Architecture had no problem adapting a house that had, until recently, been an outdated vacation rental into a dramatic version of domestic beachy ocean cliffs with commanding views of the Santa Barbara coastline as well as the Channel Islands.
By virtue of the large amount of glazing throughout the space, natural light floods the house and enhances the owner's connection to the surrounding exterior spaces. The home also features environmentally conscious amenities tailored to the needs of the owner, including energy efficient lighting and water saving technology.
