Situated on an expansive orchard with several hundred acres of avocado, citrus, and stone fruit trees, this ranch style residence was designed in the vernacular of a traditional central coast barn and made to look like it was subsequently converted to a loft-type residence.

The home owners aspired to a residential design that would accommodate their self-sufficient lifestyle. Ultimately, this project afforded the project design team at Dan Weber Architecture an opportunity to carefully consider environmental impacts, design a healthy home, and elevate the importance of energy and water conservation, indoor air quality, and sustainable building materials throughout all project phases. This project is currently unbuilt and pending construction kick-off.
