Rethinking the Parque Barbosa community grounds in the barrio of Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
There is a visual and functional disconnect between how designers think about a citizen's relationship to infrastructural utility. This thesis explores the Santurcino's social and spatial interactions influenced by urban opportunities, specifically related to the utility grid. Through the deployment of a site-dependent grid of interactive utility systems and a rethought recreational promenade, this project aims to link isolated communities and raise awareness on the consumption of these public resources.
