Computing Drawing: USPS Boston Corner Building

This project investigates the possibilities of computation and drawing as a a design medium. The visual language in a series of drawings, derived from coded drawing excersises, is interpreted as form in the third dimension and later adapted into habitable space. The building designed is meant to serve as South Boston’s United States Postal Service and its warehouse. This reinterpretation of the existing building creates an urban scale corridor, connecting South Station’s train platforms to the harbor. This cut creates a pedestrian promenade wrapping around the corner along which the retail and postal office are located.
