My name is Ally Samaniego, I am a 3D artist and designer working in design and fabrication, looking for a bigger challenge in architecture. I saw the position for junior architectural designers today, and felt that it described a position that I would make a good fit for. With my extensive experience in indoor and outdoor rendering, developing for VR and AR, etc., as well as the experience I have gained in my current position designing and constructing all kinds of products and buildings, I believe I would have a lot to offer as a junior architectural designer.
I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a wide range of skills from traditional art to advanced 3D modeling and rendering, specializing in indoor and outdoor architectural spaces. I gained valuable VR and AR development experience after an incredible internship in Germany in 2015, and since graduation, I have been working freelance, non-profit, and as a 3D artist at SRO Associates. With SRO, I work designing and fabricating everything from buildings, exhibits, and environments, to 40+ foot-tall sculptures and props for theme parks all around the world, with clients including Dollywood, Google, and even Universal Studios. I create sketches, drawings, 3D models and renders, shop drawings, guides, and anything else necessary to ease my and my coworkers’ workload as we move a project along from concept to install.
Not only do I think my experience qualifies me for this position, but I think I have a lot to offer as a coworker as well. I am a hard-working, detail-oriented woman who understands the value and importance of criticism in her work, learns quickly and who has a big heart for people and coworkers. The most important aspects of office culture is healthy working relationships and efficient communication in the workplace, breeding creativity and productivity.
Included in my portfolio are the projects I've completed that no longer fall under non-disclosure agreements. If you would like to see any shop drawings, plans, or other renderings of any kind, I would love to go through them with you in person.
Thank you and have a lovely weekend!
