The Quesa Cottage

The Stone-Box

The area has a very strong stone work tradition. Actually, there’s a huge quarry up town. Why don’t we fill a transparent box with stone? We’ll mimic the surroundings. We’ll rearrange nature to welcome our visitors.
With a very reduced budget we entered the project thinking about a real chance to rediscover our past. The rural Spanish life style.
We were given an incredible site in return. Right on top of the near-by hill. From there, a perfect view of the valley, the sea en the beautiful village of Quesa.

We propose a simple rearrangement. We’ll use nature the way our ancestors did. We’ll use the traditional stone work industry to build a few single-family houses. Just like all the other houses down town.

We’ll put them all together as a pile of stone. A visible landmark for the village.
“It’s a condensed city of memories. A huge stone container. Tradition inside a box”
