As new suburban development contributes to urban sprawl andthe housing needs of a new generation place pressure on homebuilders, designers and developers have a unique opportunity to introduce non-conventional housing types and innovative construction methods into a changing housing market. This project explores how architect-led developments can address a changing real estate market, regional housing needs, and sustainability concerns of the future. By showing how individual architects can adopt the development process into their personal design process, we can see how designers can have a stronger influence on the shape of our built environment and potentially change the public’s general attitude towards development.
