A proposal for a high-rise tower in Mott Haven, NY that looks to provide mental health care treatment and rehabilitation to a neighborhood that is lacking in mental health services. This project aims to challenge the typical hospital typology and current mental health facilities seen in urban environments. The focus is on creating a relationship between wellness and architecture through the introduction of biophilic design and including programs that promotes personal healing and moments of privacy, as well as social interaction with other patients. The high-rise tower typology for the project allows for the creation of a healthcare village that can provide mental health care services to a larger population of people within a closer proximity while also improving medical staff efficiency and experience.
