Having worked on built projects ranging in scale from a Fashion Show Runway to Concrete Water Reservoirs and professional design projects from the scale of Furniture to Master Planning, I have the ability to work on a large range of projects. Being a recent UCLA Masters of Architecture graduate, I have spent the past year working on an Urban Master Plan under the guidance of Thom Mayne and Eui-Sung Yi Morphosis LA/ Now Institute. Having worked on this Master Plan and other Morphosis projects, I feel I have sharpened both technical and professional skills which I have spent many years acquiring. Throughout these projects I have worked on teams of three to fifteen people, working in LA, Haiti and other countries, which has allowed me the opportunity to work on international design teams for international projects.

A native of Ireland, and having worked as a Contractor’s Site Engineer for a number of years, I am quite accustomed to having city officials as clients and am familiar with working at an international level.

I have worked as a Site Engineer and Quantity Surveyor on multiple large water main reservoir and distribution projects mostly costing in excess of three million euro. While working in these roles my responsibilities included strict surveying, budgeting, document preparation and preparation of value engineering design proposals. Other engineering projects I have been involved in include piers, waste water schemes and housing developments.  While under the employment of the Carty Group, I also worked for Carty Properties, preparing house surveys, employing sub-contractors and preparing marketing publications.

Having moved to Los Angeles over three years ago to pursue my Masters of Architecture, UCLA has given me the ability to work on a diverse range of design projects with a wide range of mediums and materials. In addition to the standard computerized tools including Rhino 3D, Auto Cad, Vray, Sketch up, Grasshopper and an extensive knowledge of the Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Dreamweaver, I have also acquired good knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures including CNC millwork, vacuum forming, 3D printing and investigations in casting, metalwork and woodwork.
