The studio was developed around the idea of wonder.
This idea was embodied in the way the visitor interacts with the collection in which scale and proportion become principal elements in conditioning this interaction. In the special collections room the visitor can admire exotic and endangered species as if they were jewels —a metaphor for the preciousness and fragility of their being. Encased in inverted glass prisms, the onlooker can come close and regard in wonder the hidden little details of the plants from their vantage view. Then, stepping into the greenhouses from the special collections room the perspective changes and the visitor finds his/herself inside the glass prism, in the world of the plants.
