This site is based on an arbitrary site in Junction City, Oregon.  The goal was to design a residence that addresses all of the climatic issues of the environment that it resides in.  The main issues of this particular climate were the low temperature and the impact of wind.  This is a single person residency which incorporates a music studio.  It was important to create a buffer between the living spaces and the studio because of noise.  The courtyard provides this buffer between the studio and the living space.
