Aromatic Ventilation

The McLaren Headquarters in Dubai serves as a cutting-edge facility that not only functions as a manufacturing hub but also champions social responsibility, sustainability, and inclusivity. It focuses on uplifting migrant workers by equipping them with valuable skills and autonomy, protecting them from the abusive labor practices prevalent in the region. The workers' presence, while concealed from sight to ensure their safety, is subtly perceptible to visitors through a unique sensory experience. The building's ventilation system disperses the combined scents of rose water, leather, and gasoline, emanating from the manufacturing processes. These scents hint at the workers' active role and contribution to the facility without revealing their physical presence.

The headquarters also features manufacturing zones, office spaces for McLaren staff, and areas for displaying luxury cars, catering to an affluent clientele. Architecturally, it incorporates passive cooling methods, solar shading, and natural ventilation to enhance climate equity for users from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the structure aids environmental efforts by using exhaust systems designed to release chemicals for cloud seeding, improving rainfall and water accessibility in the area. This holistic approach to architecture addresses broad social, environmental, and economic challenges, fostering community well-being and a sense of inclusivity.
