This research project studies a unique mechanical property of CLT - the fact that it is orthotropic. The design consolidates both the standardized and the research aspect of timber material, by using mostly standardized timber frame members while applying few specially fabricated members at critical structural joints, maximizing the holistic structural efficiency of the pavilion.
