This project is a renovation project which located in the old town of Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China. Our client is a white-collar worker who tried to escape from the busy urban life. She hoped her coffee space will also give her customer a sense of peace and relax. 

When we think about the layout of first floor which is the main café-area. We don’t want to standardize the space. We blended a nature garden into the layout, it served as a circular path dividing the space as well as a decoration providing a semi-privacy of each group. This idea was emphasized by the material separation of the finish floor. Pebble stone and floor tiles are chosen to form this winding and irregular path weakening the rigid regularity of space. It also gives our client a flexibility to reset the layout in the future.
