It’s a story about the tangle between history and the modern. As the constrction of civil traffic system, the splendid city walls of Beijing were torned down. It used to serve as a separation as well as the site where civil activities happened. Roads and subways have taken the place of city walls. With the heavy traffic, the broad roads and subways interrupt the city, serve as a new kind of separation. The museum intend to place the relics of the past together with the modern traffic of subway, for visitors to experience the conficts between the two and evokes the feelings of retrospectation in them.
