Frank Liske Park Barn Rebuild
The timeline of Frank Liske Park Barn:
- 1979, the State leased 238 acres to Cabarrus Country from the School parcel to create a park for 1 dollar.
- Park named after Frank Liske, who attended the Stonewall Schook in his youth, a local charitable man who dedicated his life to helping the youth of Cabarrus Country.
- In March 26 of 2020, firefighters arrived to find Frank Liske Park’s iconic barn engulfed in flame.
Now, with input from the community, the County is steadily working to rebuild the historic landmark. The design process is complete, and crews have cleared the debris to make room for the new facility.
The design team sets up 4 goals to success the project:
- Remind the Barn-Like architectural language.
- Introduce Gambrel roofs to maximize loft space.
- Enhance the community’s engagements and provide rentable spaces for public use.
- Create a new silo as a new landmark.
