Architecture League Folly 2014 Competition
Fabric spans between a grid of columns. “Between the Sheets” creates a unique micro-space with in the open environment. Offering moments of privacy, and intimacy for the visitors. From the outside layers of fabric stack up, as they shift in height they create pockets of space to be explored. This fabric is stretched between a metal framework, playing with the soft and hard elements. The tension between the surfaces offers areas of accessibility and points where visitors can only peer inside see the depths beyond. People can climb and explore this 3 dimensional landscape; lounging in its shade, climbing up its sides, crawling with in the network discovering new ways to interact with the installation. “Between the Sheets” is active and visual offering a folly to enjoy on many levels.
