Seattle
Uptown Espresso at Baggage Claim welcomes travelers to the Emerald City through the same warm and casual sensibilities as the local company’s other Seattle locations. Revisions to the existing coffee-shop service counter in this location provide a simpler and more efficient back-counter service and queuing line – resulting in smoother guest circulation and improved staff-customer interactions. Further, by opening the space behind the existing columns in the space, visibility is improved from the baggage claim carousels.
In addition to a blade sign on the existing column, the avocado-green Heath Ceramics tile wall of the back-of-house space is used for a large format, cut steel version of Uptown’s timeless logo. Warm and durable oak-grain laminate panels contribute to the warmth of the space, both in the casework and overhead trellis. Industrial LED lighting harkens back to Seattle’s manufacturing roots and the Red List Free Tectum panels used in the ceiling provide acoustic dampening along this otherwise noisy passageway of the airport.
