Upward is working with the Washington Department of Natural Resources to design a viewpoint shelter atop Tiger Mountain, near Issaquah, Washington. Surrounded by old-growth fir trees, the site is an abandoned gravel pit with commanding views of Mount Rainier to the south. In addition to hikers and equestrians, the pavilion especially serves mountain bike riders and is situated near the top of a recently completed mountain biking trail system.
While capitalizing on the stunning views and offering a sheltered place of rest, the new facility will promote youth and community awareness of mountain biking and environmental stewardship. Site amenities will include and information kiosk, bike parking, bike repair stations, restroom facilities, BBQ grills and a fire pit.
