The Accommun project is a residential ecosystem at the forefront of contemporary architecture that, considering economic, cultural, and political conditions at different periods, advances in generating sustainable and adaptable solutions.
The Accommun project’s design is based on a clear understanding of decision-making establishments in the construction process.
This approach reduces excessive dependencies on initial decisions and aims to increase the beneficial factors for residents and builders. obviously, The best buildings are those with an adaptable performance, compliant use standards, and the most resilient towards changing lifestyles over time. The Accommun buildings offer the possibility of different forms of shared ownership and introduce a new concept of “community”.
The design process involves engaging users and future residents in the early stages of construction to enhance their sense of ownership and attachment to the space, and to contribute to the growth of the local community in the building’s future.
The Accommun project is a building initiative in Iran that aims to establish resilient and sustainable communities towards the uncertain future of social and economic conditions.
An ecosystem refers to a system comprised of interacting components that sustain its existence. In case of any changes in one of the components, the other parts must change to maintain the stability of the ecosystem. In the context of the residential ecosystem, the concept of minimum housing is often compensated in relation to other ecosystems such as interstitial and public spaces. The project centers on creating “interstitial spaces” within the building to enhance social interactions and foster a sense of community while preserving the quality of living and sustainability of the building ecosystem. These interstitial spaces, such as communal areas, waiting spaces, elevators, and stairways, serve as a link between private and public spaces and ultimately connect the building to the city. These spaces are designed to be both physically and socially functional, to create a more livable and sustainable environment.
