Artificial Nature

Architecture without people.

Artificial Nature is a Data Center that collaborates with the city both physically and conceptually. It’s a scene of future technology. A monument one can touch, climb, populate and inhabit. A park where one can walk, run, relax, play, hold parties and events. A living mechanism that grows as the need grows.
It’s a battlefield between the need for nature and technology, an open poll where people can decide how they want their future to be like.
It would read as “The more outdoor activities you have, The fewer data storage you’ll need.”

The modules are made in such a way to follow the geometry of a dodecahedron by their main nodes. Making it possible to have infinite types of different modules that can easily be connected to each other through their core structure.

The living mechanism is consist of different type of modules. Each of them have specific task. Data storage, fire safety, cooling system, power generators are some of these tasks. The right proportion of these modules is the key to survival for this building.
Other than that, all of them are equiped with solar panels, absorbing the some of the necessary energy from sun and delivering it to the battery modules. All of them have their own seperated structure allowing them to be removed or added when needed.

There are different type of modules. Some are the space where data lives, some are for cooling system  some are fire extingusher and etc. As long as the proportion of these modules is right, the system lives.
For such a modular system the growth pattern needs to be geometric enough to be predictable and non-geometric enough to not be repetitive. Considering the main shape of each module is bounded to a dodecahedron, it makes it much easier to achieve this goal.
One other incredible characteristic of this complex geometric shape is that unlike a cube, it’s impossible to fill a space with dodecahedron making it perfect for places where having airflow is important.
