For 15 years I worked Interiors as a Consultant at the Los Angeles Unified School District, as a designer, manager and owner’s representative. My day-to-day responsibilities have involved the managing of key roles in over 100 projects that span both PreK-12 education to healthcare design. I have worked as a senior manager, directing staff efforts, and I am at my core a designer, a communicator and a facilitator. Over the last three years I have working with private clients and I developed a design sense that strives at deeply rooting a building to its community. Thinking of myself as a community-based architect is a place of maturity, benefiting form over 20 years of experience in the design and construction management in the residential, commercial, educational, entertainment and financial sectors.
Deep Lines, Loas Angeles, Principal Designer
This Project was originally developed out of a desire to help my neighbors in the North East Hills of LA, some of whom were struggling with navigate the residential permitting process. It has actually given me a new perspective on community based architecture, designing right sized solutions for existing residential clients. Among the common threads are the shared goals of wanting to keep living in their homes, develop their property, and moreover preserve their community with affordable housing. In some ways it is a perfect complement to my education work, because it is about the individual experience in the community. I am now working on homes that make up the demographic, and catchment for the schools I have worked on for the last 15 years. It's full of challenges, and very rewarding.
